Reader: I just noticed this, but you always listen to your readers, Odacchi. So how about a "New Character Design Contest" or a "The Devil Fruit that I came up with!" type of thing? As for me, well... How about a Diarrhea-Diarrhea Fruit or Poo-Poo Fruit? A person that will never be constipated thanks to the Poo-Poo Fruit!"
Oda: No! That's nothing but a normal healthy person! And about that contest, I probably won't be doing it. This might seem a bit cold on my part, but I don't want anybody else's ideas. My editor at Shonen Jump changes from time to time, but the first thing I always say to my new editor is "Do not give me any of your ideas." I want to say that all the characters and story are something that I came up with myself. If I started relying on one person, I would end up doing it again with another person. And if I messed up, I might end up blaming that person. If it goes well, it's thanks to me. If it flops, it's my fault. That's something I like. Oh, but there are ideas I want that aren't related to the main story. The cover art of members of the Straw Hat Pirates together with animals. I want ideas relating to that. If you send me letters with stuff like "Draw this character doing something with this animal" then I'll gladly draw it.

Oda: You sure got a sharp eye there. I gave it that particular sound effect because no ordinary sound effect could completely express what a powerful blast it is. Sometimes, I forget about it when drawing drafts, but I always end up adding it back in. Say it with me, everybody! Blinkity Blink!
